Install was a project conceived for a thesis course. The goal of install is to help
teachers make technology classrooms more welcoming. The execution consisted of a
poster series and a series of desktops and icons. This allowed students to customize
their computer. While the effect had a significant visual impact on the classroom, the cost
implications did not. The poster series was only two color and mouse pads are
relatively cheap to produce, finally digital artwork is provided on a CD. Making the project
affordable and easy to implement was very important to the outcome.
