The Khaya Cookie Company is based in South Africa, it's main goals are to create gourmet cookies and in doing so, create jobs locally. The design employs a deep, sophisticated, African color palette with simple graphic patterns speaking to its richness and heritage. The emblem containing 'Khaya' references the Dutch colonial architectural influences of South Africa, relating back to the word Khaya which means home in Xhosa, a traditional South African language. A gloss printing technique, used on the solid color fields, makes the box more tactile and furthers the story of coming from an elemental place to form something polished.
